Living in the East of England, chances are you’re aware of the quirky, woodland adventure park in Hoveton - BeWILDerwood, The Curious Treehouse Adventure - most loved for its “back to nature ethos”, adventure and imaginative play for all the family. Their biggest event of the season, The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade is their most popular time of year, where the woods glow in a magical light extravaganza for October half term. But.. in a COVID19 world, how are the Twiggles & Boggles of BeWILDerwood going to put on their spectacular show?
Through the Summer holidays, BeWILDerwood operated at less than a half of their actual capacity to allow the space in the woods to play, without having to do timed entries and compromise their all-day offering.
This is still the case and will be in October half term but capacity for the parade will have to be a lot smaller. Therefore, tickets for the evening parade will be separate from the standard day tickets, with allocated time slots, unlike previous years. These are very limited and already proving extremely popular!
BeWILDerwood are planning on hosting three Lantern Parade shows each evening, 5.30pm, 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
So, if you’re wanting to run WILD in the autumnal woods and hang around for dusk to see BeWILDerwood in a whole new light then don’t forget to book both sets of tickets, for day entry and the evening parade.
Standard day tickets will remain at the same price of £17.50 each for visitors 105cm and over. Lantern Parade tickets are priced at £7.50 each for visitors over 92cm. (under 92cm – free)
BeWILDerwood said,
“This year, due to the current situation, we’re having to change the way we do things to ensure we can safely manage the evening, whilst doing our best-est to deliver a truly marvellous (spooky not scary) lantern parade, which will mean more preparation, more Twiggle Team members, and most importantly, more magic!
To make sure we get it right, and to keep everyone safe, we will be closing the park to day visitors at 5pm and re-opening the park from 5.30pm to those lovely folk who want to experience BeWILDerwood at night. Visitors in the evening will need to arrive within a set time frame, where they will be able to explore the woods (via a new secret entrance!) and once again, see the beauty of BeWILDerwood at night, and perhaps see a few old friends along the way too!
The Twiggles and Boggles are so excited to have the opportunity to put on a brand new Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade. Not only will it follow a soopa spangly new route, through parts of the woodland that the public haven’t had a chance to explore before, but they are also working hard to sprinkle plenty of extra giggle dust and magic on the parade with new lights, sounds and experiences. Delivering this event as we have done in previous years, just would not be possible during the current climate, so this new event will allow visitors to experience the incredible magic of the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade in a whole new light!”
Families wanting to play in the park during the day can still enjoy all the Halloween themed decorations while they run WILD. As well as enjoying the storytelling shows, boat rides and inclusive craft making activity.
